Sleek design,
sophisticated technology
The
Oregon Scientific RM382PA has a unique look.
Before plugging the base unit in, the RM382PA appears to be a
clear Lucite box that is black on the inside, with a black sphere
sitting in a depression in the top. When power is applied, the
sphere projects the time on the wall or ceiling, and red
characters appear on the base displaying time, day of the week,
indoor temperature, and date. The base of the Oregon Scientific
RM382PA is about 5 1/8" square, and 2" tall. The
sphere is about 2 3/4" diameter.

Projected Display
- The removable wireless sphere on the Oregon Scientific RM382PA
projects the time on the wall or ceiling in a darkened room. When
the projection sphere is in the base unit's cradle, the sphere's batteries
recharge and the sphere's clock synchronizes to the atomic clock
in the base unit. The projection sphere can project from it's
cradle, or may be removed from the
cradle to operate wirelessly for up to 10 hours.
Base Unit Display - At
the top of the display in the base is the time in your choice of 12 or 24 hour
format. The clock display may be set to display the time with either
seconds, or the day of the week, to the right of the hour and minutes. The abbreviation for
day of the week can be displayed in English, French, German, Italian or
Spanish. Below the time, the indoor temperature (your choice
of °F or °C) and the date are displayed. The clock is
automatically synchronized to the master atomic clock in Fort Collins
Colorado as long as the RM382PA is in a location with adequate WWVB radio
signal reception.
The RM382PA has two daily alarms, with an 8
minute snooze function.
The hour and minute digits are 1/2 inch tall. Seconds, AM/PM indicator and weekday characters are
smaller at about 1/4 inch. Temperature and date display are about 7/32
inch.
Directly below the temperature and date displays are alarm
status indicators.
