In the battery
compartment of the THGN123 are a Channel 1, 2, or 3 selection switch
and a recessed Reset button that you press with a paper clip or similar tool
after changing the batteries. A red LED at the bottom of the round
gray trim panel on the front of the THGN123 flashes when the remote
transmits a temperature and humidity reading to the main unit.
The THGN123 thermo-hygro sensor can rest on a horizontal surface, or it can be
wall-mounted via a keyhole slot on the back. Please be aware that the
small table stand that extends from the back of the remote is an integral
part of the battery compartment cover that makes up most of back of the
remote. Don't try to pry the stand off, or you'll break the cover! You can
hang the remote on a wall with the stand in place. Also, to remove the
cover, simply slide it downward and pull it off. You don't need a Phillips
screwdriver as is stated in the instructions.
This remote is
water-resistant (splashproof) but not waterproof. Choose a mounting location where the
THGN123 is protected from direct sunlight and direct precipitation.
The THGN123 transmits
at a frequency of 433 MHz. This remote operates on two AA alkaline or lithium batteries
(not AAA as it says in the instructions and specifications). Two alkaline
batteries are included.
Average battery life is approximately 1 year.
Note on
Remote Sensor Compatibility: The
THGN123 cannot be used with Oregon
Scientific temperature-only main units that use 100-series
remotes (such as the THR138 and THC138). If your Oregon Scientific main
unit can use 200-series remotes (the THGR268 and THC268, the
discontinued THR268, and the newer THGR122N), it can also use the THGN123.
Also, please be aware that some newer Oregon Scientific wireless
temperature-only products come with a THN132N thermo remote. If you use the
THGN123 with these products, you'll see the remote temperature but not
the humidity. Note
on Returns: This product comes

(for example, if its appearance does not meet your expectations), please
leave the blister pack unopened and contact us for return instructions.
Defective products, however, can be returned for replacement. Again,
please contact us for instructions.
